Summer is Here!!! :)
It was SO hard to say goodbye to this year’s class! I got all teary and there were a few that made me more so that way! π One of the traditions at our school is that all the teachers and other staff gather on the sidewalk and when the buses are all loaded, we do a kick line!! So fun!!
How do you say goodbye to your kids?
On another note, just because school is out, doesn’t mean learning stops for me!! π I have several books I’ll be reading and then I’m returning for a 3rd year of our Science Academy (to learn to be a facilitator) and then another Economics workshop. I’ll be posting my thoughts on those things, plus anything you would like me to answer, send it my way and I’ll post a Q&A here in a couple of days…maybe I could do that every Friday to get us through the summer!
You have until Friday ( 2 days from now!!) to leave me a comment on a post I wrote a few below this one to be entered to receive a copy of my handouts from my June 15th workshop!! π

We are having a picnic and field day on our last day of preschool. We have been working on memory books this week. π (Keeping my fingers crossed to be one of the lucky ones to receive your handouts. π )

I always have a breakfast for my kids on the last day of school. We eat and talk about things we did all year. Many of the parents attend. We hand out awards (everyone gets one) and report cards and they find out what 1st grade teacher they are assigned to and who will be in their class.

Hi Kristen,
You have great ideas! Wow!
On the last week of school we have a kindergarten promotion with songs, a poem and all kinders will get a certification of completion. All of the kids get fancied up and parents and family come with cameras. We have cookies and pubch on the playground. On the last day I usually have a little party and the kinders get to use any center or area that is out for the day. We revisit special read alouds that the kids loved:)
