More Target Dollar Spot Fun
Hi All!
I created a pack to help with the composition and decomposition of numbers to 20. This pack also uses the small Halloween/Fall themed erasers found in the Target Dollar Spot. To play, you will need to purchase one bag each of the cats, ghosts, and pumpkin erasers (they come in bags of 60). I’m going to be using this activity in my new Math Work Stations for this 9 weeks. I will be looking for these at Target, love it! On another note, do you know if abc order is a standard for kindergarten? I have seen lots of activities on TPT and trying to find exactly where that fits in besides learning capital and lowercase letters, thanks Kristen. Always love your ideas.

HI Leslie,
I don’t think our standards specifically say anything about abc order. It’s nice if they know how to do that, but I think in Kinder we mostly are to focus on letter and sound recognition and creating words and sentences out of those. I do think alphabetical order is an important skill though! We practice it by lining up by the first letter in our name, or the first letter in our last name. We also will put words and characters in order when looking at big books we are reading together. I think alphabetical order is another way of showing kiddos that there is order to the crazy language we call English! 🙂
