Books on CD to iPod tutorial

A few weeks ago, I blogged about how I wanted to move my listening center to an iPod so that my kiddos could be cord free.  I cleared everything off my iPod Touch and set it up with new books for my kiddos to listen to.  It was a little bit of a learning curve, but really easy once I figured it out, so I wanted to share the easy steps with you:

Just follow the steps in order and you’ll be good to go! 🙂  Let me know if you have any questions!  I am working with an older iPod Touch, so I know it works with those that are 2-3 years old. 🙂

If you’d like to help me get two more iPods you can donate to my Donor’s Choose grant here.

  1. I see you are on Discovery …… I can’t find where the books are on that website so I can transfer to the iPod. Will it work for an MP3 player?

    • Hi Holly,
The “Discovery” part that you see is the wall paper on my computer. They do not have any books on their site that I am aware of. I pulled down the window that was open down so that you could see the picture of the book cover I had on my desktop. This should work on an MP3 player, but I do not have one, so I am not positive.

  4. I teach children with special needs who have a difficult time with traditional listening centers. I put fully digital books found on discovery and youtube on old android phones using Kids place and kids place video http://kiddoware.com/apps/ (prevents the children from accessing other parts of the phone since cell phones without plans can still call 911). I have even made some videos myself and you can have videos of parents or familiar staff read stories. The kids enjoy them and I got the phones donated. These videos may work on the iPod touch if it is not too old (you don’t need the apps for iPods)
