Crayon Boxes

I bought these plastic containers at our Dollar Tree to hold our crayons in this year.  They worked great…except when the kids went to put them away, the lids kept falling off and the crayons would spill into the bottom of the organizer.

I think this idea would work better with different containers, but stay tuned later this week to see how we solved this problem! 🙂

  1. I’m curious about the Chicka Chicka booklets in the picture. where could I get my hands on those?

  3. Too bad the lids fall off because I’m sure the boxes stack well.

  4. If there is room in the bin/basket, try having the students stack the crayon boxes rather than standing them on end. I am going to try zipper pencil bags for crayons, pencils and erasers.

  5. Ann- I love the soap box idea! When I saw these tubs originally I thought getting the lids off might be an issue. I never thought about putting them back on being an issue as well. I use little tubs from the dollar store. No lids we just stack. It’s the best thing I’ve found so far. Can’t wait to see Kristen’s solution. Might be my year to make a change from my tubs!
