HASTI

I had a fun few days last week presenting at the HASTI (Hoosier Association of Science Teachers Incorporated) conference in Indianapolis.  I presented 2 of my own sessions and 3 with larger groups of other science teachers.

One thing that I kept hearing was that elementary teachers didn’t think they needed to attend the conference because they were afraid the science might be over their heads or that they didn’t need to attend because they teach all subjects, not just science.

As a Kinder teacher, I attend every year and I think it’s one of the best conferences I get to attend.  I was also elected as a HASTI board member last year, so it was fun to help plan the conference!

I presented 3 sessions about different science ideas.  “Science through the Seasons”, “Wonderful Weather!”, and “The Power of Plants”.  I also sat on two panel discussions about Science Notebooks in the K-5 classroom.

I love presenting at conferences because I am happy that I can share what I have learned with others and help spread some science love around!

At all 3 of my sessions we had make & takes, so I took a few pictures from the Wonderful Weather! presentation:
