Who’s Who and Who’s New Post- “Reken-what?”

I am honored to be guest posting again over at Who’s Who and Who’s New! Today I’m sharing a post about making your own class set of Rekenrek’s.  I’ve wanted to make some for awhile and during a workshop I took 3 weeks ago, I learned more about them, how to use them, and the benefits to my students.  Head on over to check it out! Let me know if you make them! I’d love to see them in action! 🙂

  1. Here is my blog post about Rekenreks Big And Small. Each child made seasonal Rekenreks, but their favorite was the huge classroom Rekenrek: http://kfundamentals.blogspot.com/2014/10/rekenreks-big-and-small-we-love.html

  2. Love Rekenreks! I made some for my class last year and used them for the first time. I used card stock, pipe cleaner, beads and a large popsicle stick. Same concept. Such a great way to learn number sense and combinations.
