Math Tubs
After taking a STEM workshop offered by my district this summer, I decided to tackle a project I’d had floating in my head for awhile–math buckets.
I wanted to have buckets set up where I could grab them and use them right away during math lessons, so I came up with these:
Included in each tub are unifix cubes (stacks of 10), 2 sided counters, foam dice, 1 inch tiles, 4 homemade Rekenreks, and Pattern Blocks.

I heart this idea so much! Are you going to keep these on a shelf only for your access for math lessons? I have extras in tubs for students, so am wondering if this would keep things in their places for when I need them. Your thoughts?

Hi Maggie! 🙂 I plan on using them either in our table groups or when we are sitting on the floor for our math lessons. I have sit spots on the carpet and I grouped the spots in 4’s so that each group can share a tub. I will have a “getter” from each group get the tub and bring it back. We will see how it works. 🙂
