Morning Work

I thought I’d share a post about the morning work that my kids complete each morning as they come in my room.  Danielle Kroger from Kroger’s Kindergarten has been creating the BEST morning work packs each month and I’ve been lucky enough to be using them since November.  If I don’t put them out or forget to copy them, my kids let me know…they love them that much.

I like that when Danielle creates them, she makes each morning work pack 4 weeks long with enough literacy and math activities to last me an entire month.  I also LOVE them because on Monday, I explain how to complete the work and it’s the same (just different letters and numbers, etc.) for the rest of the week.  The second week builds on the skills practiced in the first week, and then the third builds on the second, and the fourth on the third week.  They are all tied to the Common Core Standards too, so the teacher in me loves them for that reason! 🙂

Danielle has just posted her Spring Morning Work pack, so head to her Tpt store and check it out! 🙂 Her store is having a Spring Cleaning Sale March 30th and 31st, so be sure to head over and check out her morning work!  Also, while you’re there, be sure to check out Danielle’s Spring Emergent Readers–95 pages of spring reading goodness! 🙂

A Sale and a Product Swap!

A bunch of us over at Kinderland are having a product swap!  We each got paired up with someone to swap products with.  I am paired up with Cathy Irwin of Mrs. Irwin’s Class.  She sent me this fun “Down on the Farm” pack.  Screen Shot 2013-03-09 at 5.02.52 PM

There are loads of activities packed into this unit that Cathy wrote!  My kids loved playing the positional words game:

My assistant would read a card and then the kids would place the correct farm animal on, under, next to, or under the fence with the shape she mentioned.  They were busy correcting each other and wanted to keep playing!

They also loved the upper and lower case matching game!  The kids match the upper case farm animal with the lowercase letter written on the red barn!  GREAT practice for my ELL kiddos!
You can get Cathy’s pack here from her Tpt store!

Now for the SALE!!

I’ll be linking up their stores tomorrow so that you can visit everyone who is participating in The Kinderland March Madness Sale! 🙂

HUGE Kinderland Announcement!!

Hi friends! I hope the new year finds you well and in great spirits for the year to come! 2013 is destined to be a fantastic year in many respects, but truly for a group that is near and dear to my heart – Kinderland!

Many of you may not have heard of Kinderland – it’s basically a collective group of kindergarten/early primary teachers-bloggers who strive to learn and grow with one another. We also all have blogs that you may know. :0) Another extension of this group is a Pinterest board called Kinderland Collaborative. You may have seen it on Pinterest lately!

Anyway – I am here to announce SUPER EXCITING news!
The original Kinderland members have started a new Google + community that you are definitely going to want to be apart of. We have this new Kinderland Collaborative Community available to be a meeting place between ALL kinder teachers ……bloggers and non-bloggers alike. If you are interested in all things kinder – you will want to join. It’s a place to get to know other kinder teachers from around the world, get to know your favorite kinder bloggers (and learn about new ones)……ask questions, bounce ideas off other kinder teachers. The sky is the limit…..when we all work together! You will even see there is a place to link to freebies (all in one place) and we will have giveaways from time to time also!
I hope to see all of you over there! You will definitely see me over there!!
Why Google+?
Well, it’s like Facebook, but better. The layout is nicer, allows us to create threads for different topics. We can even have hangouts (where you can video/audio chat with other kinder teachers and bloggers).
